Today, I’m thrilled to be introducing a new Guest Designer to the Amazing Paper Grace Blog. Please help me welcome October 2019 Guest Designer – Rajni Chawla! She has a breathtaking style to share with you this month and you can see from her unique use of dies and elements that there will be much inspiration throughout the month. I’ve loved seeing how she uses Amazing Paper Grace dies and today I’m sharing her first card above. Rajni will be blogging with us the entire month so be sure to take a peek at her blog every week of October for a new creation using Amazing Paper Grace dies. In the meantime, let’s learn a little bit about our Guest!
In her creation above, Rajni makes an expert layering using Candlewick Canopy and Candlewick Edged Corners
For the calendar: Don’t forget, tomorrow, October 1st, I’ll show you inspiration for the new October Die of the Month. One little hint – if you’ve ever had to search for something to say or just the right word for a card, you’ll search no more :-)

I am Rajni Chawla from New Delhi, India with my four kids – a daughter, a son and two cute little labradors. About 7 years back, I started off in the field of cardmaking as a newbie. And now, thousands of projects later, I can proudly say that I start each of my creations with the same enthusiasm as I started my first one with. I eat, sleep and breath everything that has to do with crafting. My love for ART simply grows with each project that I make. Flowers and birdies are my weakness.
Vibrant and bright colors are my style. But that said, I enjoy experimenting and love to make mistakes (I call them happy accidents) so that I create something new. Besides designer, I’m a craft instructor and a product developer too. I conduct various craft workshops all across India and have developed Crystal Clear, Frosting Powder and Twinkling Spark for Papericious, India.
I feel very honored to be Guest Designing Design for Amazing Paper Grace. I am so excited that I’ll be sharing my passion with like-minded crafters, some of whom I’ve always looked up to for inspiration.

Elegant Inspiration by Rajni Chawla
Here are two more dazzlers created by Rajni. They are simply beautiful, I hope you agree!
Rajni is sharing a lovely card using Candlewick Petticoats – it’s a half doily die with a bracket border edge that can be used on top of or underneath elements. It’s so brilliant the way she has offset it, to draw your attention.
Here Rajni has reached for Graceful Doily in her elegant creation. Her use of gold and cream to magnify the elegance of all the elements is absolutely majestic. It’s so brilliant the way she has offset it, to draw your attention.
I hope to see you tomorrow for the new die of the month! I hope you’ll come and take a peek :-)

Sheri Holt rocked our socks off this month with her Amazing Paper Grace creations. We waited with baited breath to see what she was going to come out with and it was positively amazing. She played with patterned design papers in ways that made us go back and evaluate our stashes to see what we could dig up. From shabby chic to elegant, she made projects this month that checked the box in each category!!
Sheri creates with several design teams on a continuous basis and also showcases designs frequently for Spellbinders. Her style is crisp, balanced and what I call textbook perfect as she brilliantly shows die placement and patterned paper in a way that both hold their ground.
Please continue to follow her – she’s a perfect designer to case as her design skills nail composition, design and balance every.single.time.

Creating with Sheri Holt

Sheri shared a beautiful, romantic card during her month adorned with Foamiran flowers. She told us that it was her first try ever! We were stunned that the first time out of the starting gate you could get something so beautiful. She said it was easy, so rest assured, we’ll be trying this too!!

This creations is absolutely exquisite! Sheri combined all the best things about a traditional Christmas look with glamour and glitz!! Her layerings are amazing and it just seems like this is exactly what these dies were made for!!

This sweet little shaker card says a lot about Sheri! Her command of design paper and ability to mix and match to highlight the festive fun behind the design, is amazing!! This creation just makes me smile. All the layering, all the whimsy, all the colors – yes!

Another first for Sheri, she completed her first 3D Holiday Vignette! Again, she took a unique view and made it her own by adding patterned paper!

It was the ultimate blessing to have Sheri design with us throughout the month. I hope you enjoyed her creations and that she created some inspiration for you and a tiny little push to create something outside of your normal zone. Thanks so much Sheri, we can hardly wait to see what you create next!!

Stay tuned as tomorrow, we will welcome a new APG Guest Designer and on October 1st I’ll be introducing a new die of the month.
In the meantime, I hope you are loving the approach of fall as much as I am. Just a note to say what a blessing you all are and I hope you are all doing well!

It’s a beautiful thing to be able to sit and create for Christmas. That was my thinking this morning as I pulled out some new Christmas stamps sent by my friend Suzanne Cannon with Quietfire Design. It’s honestly what I needed. Just to stop the clock for an hour or two and sit down and pour my heart into thinking about the upcoming holidays. You’ve heard me say it before . . . therapy . . . well, I got mine. Oh and say, isn’t this stamp set simply irresistible? It fits perfectly on an A2 Card Front which I used as a focal point although I modified mine into an A7. It’s two pieces – sentiment and house from her May the Holiday Spirit Set. I love what it has to say and it simply embodies the cozy way I feel about the holidays. Bravo Suzanne!!
Design Thoughts
So let’s break my card down. It floats at the tippy top of my favorites so I knew for a Christmas Card with an open aperture, that Spellbinders Cannetille Rectangles would be a winner. Yes, it is one of my favorites and because I’ve not been posting a lot lately, I haven’t even begun to wear it out yet. This is a die that I created specifically for the folks that write to me about A2 Card Fronts. Voila – Cannetille! It has beautiful filigree to frame or layer something on top of and for my A7 homies, it is right at home on a 5×7 or 5.5×7.5″ card – the latter is my go-to size.

Because I love layering, I reached for Spellbinders Flourished Squares – from my Romancing the Swirl Collection. Although it’s very pretty on its own, I reach for it often to layer behind something. It gives it an open airy look with a little bit of flair. I simply cut that design from gold paper and but the motif in half. I used half on the top and half on the bottom and it gave me a great layering base for an A2 Card Front.
If you are a Die Hard A2 Cardmaker, you can certainly extract just that portion and you’ll still have a lovely card! :-)

A2 Front Card Recipe:
Here are my layers from the bottom up:
- Cardbase made from Bazzill Pomegranate Splash that measures 5.5″ x 7.5″
- Foam Squares for elevation
- Gold Cardstock that measures 5″ x 7″
- Neenah Class Crest Natural White Cardstock that measures 4-7/8″ x 6-7/8″ – Ribbon goes across this layer
- Foam Squares for elevation
- Flourished Squares Diecut from Gold Cardstock
- Cannetille Rectangle Diecut Solid Shape from Neenah CCNW Cardstock using 8 sided rim die – Stamp on this layer
- Foam Squares for elevation
- Shadows pairing of Cannetille Rectangle – Filigree Shape from Bazzill Pomegranate Splash and Gold Cardstock
- Embellishments of: Pearls, Bow, Poinsettia, Button

Cardmaking is like exercising for the mind, right? I hope you’ll give this a whirl for an easy make.
